SOLD - An Extremely Rare PAIR of George III Bookcases

The upper part of each cabinet being of breakfront form with the centre section having glazed doors and the wings having brass grills. The bases being of inverted breakfront form with one long drawer above four cupboard doors. One bookcase has a secretaire drawer with pigeon holes and smaller drawers.
Both bookcases having beautifully figured veneers which have faded to a wonderful golden colour. Each retains its original handles and each stands on its original square tapering legs. The finials replaced.
Finding a pair of bookcases is very unusual, to find a pair that are as attractive as these is exceptional. The colour and patination of the veneers is a rare pleasure to see.
