SOLD - A Rare Regency Period Rosewood & Yew-wood Drum Table
Height: 30 " 77.5cm
Diameter: 30 " 77cm
The gilt metal mounted top with a central circular yew-wood panel surrounded by radiating rosewood veneers which in turn are banded by further veneers of yew-wood. Below, the frieze has two real drawers opposite each other, four dummy drawers and two candle slides.
The top is supported on four tapering ebonised columns with gilt metal capitals and plinths which in turn are supported on a four splay rosewood veneered base with brass castors.
The table is of unusual form and the most superb colour. The combination of highly figured yew-wood and rosewood which have turned a most attractive golden colour combine to great effect.
