A Highly Unusual George I Oak Side Table
This exceptionally rare table has a crossbanded and geometrically inlaid top above a false cupboard flanked by false drawers, each cross-banded but with a flower inlaid to each cupboard door. Below the cupboard id one long true drawer.
The two front legs are gate legs which may be pulled forward to support the top which is hinged at the front to allow it to fold over like a bachelor's chest. Alternatively the top is also hinged at the back to allow the top to be lifted at the front to reveal drawers inside the table.
