SOLD - A George III Sheraton Period Satinwood Cabinet
The inlaid and banded satinwood top sits above a thin frieze with burr yew wood panels to each corner above simulated fluted pilasters flanking two doors with tulipwood cross banding. The cabinet stands on unusual fluted and tapering block feet.
English, 1790
This cabinet may be compared to a pair of open bookcases at Buckingham Palace which are highly likely to be by the same maker and a satinwood secretaire cabinet in the Victoria & Albert Museum which also has very similar feet.
