The day bed has upholstered scroll ends, show-wood seat rails, and stands on tulip shaped feet capped by gadrooned brass cup castors. It has been embellished with gilt-metal beading, rosettes and anthemions. The piece is free standing and thus finished to the same high standards on both sides.
