The screen is without doubt one of the finest examples to come on to the market in recent years. The condition, but more importantly the quality of the decoration is superb. The range of characters either pursuing their occupation or entertainment is diverse; the buildings, landscapes and foliage are exceptional and the border is particularly elaborate. To the reverse, the screen is more simply decorated with flowering branches, birds and butterflies.
This style of decoration is very similar to other items within the decorative arts fields emanating from the Orient. Porcelain In particular has pagodas and dragons adorning it as well as tapestries and fabrics often utilized in Regency England.

Chinese, Circa 1810
