Among the more modest objects of canton enameling for export, none can have exhibited more European influence than the kettles, stands and spirit heaters made between about 1740 and 1760. In terms of the form of the piece, they generally copied English silver originals of circa 1720, sometimes including an armorial to match a porcelain tea service.
