A Most Impressive George II Carved Gilt-Wood Mirror

The mirror is boldly carved with scrolling pediments flanking an asymmetrical cabochon with pierced shell work above a rectangular mirror plate with carved heads wearing crowns of feathers to either side. Below each head is trailing fruit and flowers and shell-work. At the base are further foliate sprays and opposing 'C' Scrolls set within a shell work border.
