A Pair of Nineteenth Century Bronze and Ormolu Oil Lamps
The boat-shaped supports, which are styled in the form of classical oil lamps, have ormolu flame finial and shaped spout. Supported on one is the figure of a young man in classical dress seated cross-legged resting an ormolu tablet on his legs with a pen in his right hand.
The second lamp has a female figure, also in classical dress, holding an ormolu book on her lap. The bronze lamps resting within gadrooned ormolu decoration on a bronze socle, in turn supported on ormolu plinths with chased decoration.
