A Rosewood and brass mounted side table by John McLean
A Rosewood and brass mounted side table by John McLean
A Regency period rosewood and brass mounted side table of superb quality and very rare design. The table attributed to John McLean.

John McLean operated from premises in Upper Marylebone Street during the beginning of the 19th Century. He was listed as a subscriber to Thomas Sheraton's The Cabinet Dictionary in 1803 from which he drew inspiration. His pieces had a French feel to them particularly with his use of gilt brass ornamentation on a dark rosewood background.
