The mirror frame is finely carved with symbols of the hunt, a horn, a longbow and a quiver full of arrows. It is surmounted by an eagle holding in his beak a gilded arrow and two chains set with golden orbs representing musket balls. The convex mirror plate is embellished with ebonized stars and further musket ball motifs typical of this period. Two pairs of ormolu candle arms (drip pans and drops replaced) with pendant chains and balls adorn the lower part of the frame. A trade label for Thomas Fentham is pasted on the reverse.
