SOLD - A Pair of George II Walnut Side Chairs
Each chair having an arched shell-carved crest rail above a pierced and shell-carved splat flanked by an upholstered seat with shaped gadrooned skirt. The chairs raised on acanthus leaf capped cabriole legs termination in claw and ball feet.
These chairs are illustrated in English furniture of the Eighteenth Century and described as being by Thomas Chippendale for the Bury Family at Kateshill, Bewdley. However, they are now considered to be the work of Giles Grendey.
