A George III Mahogany and Cross-banded Barometer
The barometer is a particularly fine piece that benefits from the quality of materials used and the level of craftsmanship employed. The mahogany case, which is finely figured and a good colour, is banded with rosewood throughout.
To the top a beautiful moulded swan neck pediment with ivory details and a brass finial. Interestingly, the lowest dial is a spirit level.
The barometer signed 'Cox, London' on the silvered dial.
