The cabinet section with a moulded cavetto cross-banded cornice and cross-banded door, with herring-bone and canted corners, retaining its original beveled mirror plate and enclosing adjustable shelves, pigeon-holes and drawers.
The lower part having a sloping fall, with moulded bookrest, enclosing a fitted interior with a central cupboard, with a long shallow drawer below, flanked by further drawers and pigeon-holes. Below the fall are a further four drawers above four bracket feet with a shaped apron between.

The bookcase in remarkably original condition. The handles feet and mirror plate are all original and the surface has not been touched. Thus the bookcase is a very good colour and well patinated. Particularly noteworthy are the veneers employed. These are highly figured and quite clearly were carefully selected by the cabinet maker for maximum effect.
