A Large George III Mahogany Hanging Shelf with Pierced and Carved Sides

The design of the shelf may be described as Chippendale and more particularly 'gothic', although the asymmetric design between the central shelves is most unusual. The carved fretwork to the edges of the shelves and uprights is extremely well executed and the scale is most distinctive.
