SOLD - An Unusual Georgian Adam Period Mahogany and Parcel-Gilt Corner Cupboard
The double height George III cabinet being of rare small size. Having a paneled door below with flame figured veneers banded in satinwood. The waist moulding, which is very unusual, is an egg and dart motif. There is a glazed door to the upper section with a carved frieze above. The carved motif being metopes and trygliphs. An exceptional feature of this corner cabinet is the carved detail to the frieze, waist moulding and the medallions in the spandrels of the lower door. Each of them is carved from what appears to be ivory or simulated ivory.
